Our work project took us 40 miles east of our base camp, letting us see the destruction left by Katrina. There is still much to do, and many volunteers are still needed. The project we were blessed to help on was finishing a 100-foot wheel chair ramp and finishing the final work in the kitchen. Each day we would enjoy a hot lunch at the local Salvation Army facility. The food and hospitality were blessings to all of us. Friday, after work, we were able to shower and clean up there, which saved us a lot of time for our journey back to Indiana. It was a 14-hour trip. |
The Lutheran Foundation in Fort Wayne and Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur sponsored our trip. Team members were Bernie Criswell (Engineering), Scott Andrews (Sub-assembly), Michelle Stevens (Test Tank), Brad Stetler (Small Parts Cut Out), Pam Grim (Imron), and Annette Gilbert (Maintenance). Additional trips for this worthy cause will be scheduled and sponsored by Formula Boats.
Thank you, Formula Team!
