My wife Lisa and I put about 100 hours a year on our Formula 45 Yacht, out every weekend and for a full week several times a year. One of my favorite parts about boating is that we can take our home with us—with our Formula very comfortable cruising.

One of our favorite destinations is Put in Bay on South Bass Island, Lake Erie. There is something for everyone there. For the kids, there is swimming, golf and underground caves. At night we often do "movie night" on the boat with the kids. For the adults, there is just as much to do! At night there is live music, and awesome restaurants. My personal favorites are Axel and Harry's for fine dining and Frosty's Pizza for literally the best pizza. We make it a tradition to go to both with each of our six plus trips a year.

Another great destination is Lexington, Michigan, on Lake Huron. It has an awesome Fine Arts Fair once a year. The great part is we can dock a few hundred feet from downtown and walk to the festival. There’s great food, great entertainment and great art. We always come back with a boat full of goodies from this trip.
