Choosing the Right Fuel and Oil for Your Marine Engine

Fuel

As our northern Formula family transitions into spring boating, Formula would like to remind everyone to keep a sharp eye out for ethanol-blended gasoline when fueling up. Never use gasoline with more than 10% ethanol, and preferably use one with none–just good, old-fashioned unleaded gasoline if possible. The EPA has issued a waiver for summer-blend E15 gasoline to help reduce pressure in the nation’s fuel supply. We won’t debate the merits, pro or con, of ethanol in our nation’s road supply, but we strongly caution everyone to be vigilant when topping off your Formula’s tank. DO NOT FUEL WITH E15!
Visit the EPA and Discover Boating website for more information.
